Three Psychological Causes of Erectile Dysfunction

Erectile Dysfunction (ED) is having difficulty achieving and maintaining an erection long enough for intercourse. Having erectile dysfunction from time to time is not always a sign of a more serious underlying condition. However, if you are experiencing it on a regular basis, then it is important that you speak with your doctor. The sooner you find a solution to your problems, the better. The longer you wait to address the problem the worse it will become.

There are a number of reasons why men experience erectile dysfunction. Sometimes, it is something hereditary, but it can also be caused by things like smoking, consumption of too much alcohol, poor dietary choices, stress and much more. If you feel you have been experiencing these lifestyle choices that could be causing the inability, it is best to talk with your doctor to see if there are other health conditions that could be causing it.

In order to find a solution to your problems, you need to find a reliable erectile dysfunction treatment. Your doctor may recommend talking to you about starting a program of medication or even surgery. While some people do consider these options, they are not usually recommended as the most effective or safest way to go.

One of the most popular solutions to help treat erectile dysfunction is psychological factors. There are many studies that have found that there are several psychological factors that can play into the inability to achieve and maintain an erection. Depression is one of the most common psychological factors that can lead to the condition.

Depression is considered a psychological risk factor because of the changes it can cause in your body. When you are depressed, your body produces cortisol, which is an excess of sugar in your blood stream. This excess of sugar in your blood stream reduces the amount of blood flow to your penis. Over time, this can lead to atherosclerosis, which is the formation of hard plaques in the arteries that supply blood to your penis. High blood pressure and high cholesterol can also increase the risk factors for erectile dysfunction as well.

The biggest psychological causes of erectile dysfunction are not from the physical. These psychological causes are more likely to worsen your condition because they can take years or decades to manifest. For example, psychological causes like anxiety or stress can take quite a while before they start to have any affect on your ability to get an erection. It is important to know this so that you can decide whether it is worth trying to treat your condition when it does not seem to improve no matter what you try.

Erectile Dysfunction (ED) is simply the inability to have and maintain an erection strong enough for complete sex. Estimates indicate that approximately one out of every ten men will experience erectile dysfunction at some time during his life. For some men, it can be as simple as missing a beat while jogging or as serious as developing painful erections that aren’t reliable enough to last long enough to make love. In either case, men suffering from erectile dysfunction often feel helpless and frustrated that they can’t seem to do what they want to. It’s important to note that in the vast majority of cases, erectile dysfunction is simply a symptom of a more serious underlying condition.

If you suspect that your situation may be caused by one of these more serious issues, you’ll want to make an appointment with your doctor. Your doctor can run a series of tests to try to narrow down the underlying cause and then devise a treatment plan to help you gain control over your erectile dysfunction. There are a variety of potential causes of ED, including a neurological condition like diabetes, a blood disorder such as thrombocytopenia (tying together of your blood vessels), or it could even be as simple as a side effect of some prescription medication. For many patients, the best approach to treating erectile dysfunction is to try and improve your overall health. To that end, your doctor may recommend that you check into the possibility of a glucose monitor, a diabetes blood test, or an eGISA test (an electronic gadget that measures blood glucose levels).

Aside from trying to improve your health, it’s also important that you try one of several natural methods for improving your erections. The sexual health benefits of kegels for men, among other physical activities, can truly support overall blood flow. Another  approach is called the “Swipe Method” and involves applying pressure to your penis using your thumb and forefinger at the base of your erectile organ. By doing this, you’re attempting to encourage blood flow to the penis and to the chambers which are responsible for maintaining erections. Over time, you should see a gradual increase in both the number of erections you have and the strength of those erections. If you prefer not to take on this method of improving your erections on your own, you can also turn to a variety of other alternative methods that have proven successful in increasing both the length and the thickness of your erections.

The next most common approach to treating erectile dysfunction is through the use of prescription drugs. Commonly prescribed medications used for treating erectile dysfunction are anti-depressants. However, as many of these medications can cause some unwelcome side effects, including possible headaches and nausea, many doctors will now recommend the use of medications which don’t have any unwanted side effects. One example of this type of alternative treatment is called Viagra. Viagra was originally designed to treat certain types of problems such as impotency, but it has since become popular for use as an aid to aid in the treatment of erectile dysfunction.

Another possible alternative treatment option that may be necessary if your doctor deems that other methods don’t work is to look into the possibility of cardiovascular surgery. Although this procedure does have several risks, including the possibility of heart disease, it does have the ability to treat some forms of erectile dysfunction. In order to be eligible for the surgery, you must first be diagnosed with high blood pressure. Although erectile dysfunction is almost always caused by high blood pressure, the procedure may be able to help those with only mild forms of the ailment.

If none of these methods help your situation, the final alternative available to you is to try dietary supplements. Some of the most popular herbal supplements for erectile dysfunction that have been approved by the FDA include Yohimbe, Epimedium, and Artichoke. While these do not specifically treat erectile dysfunction, they can improve sexual health in general. However, they must be used in conjunction with a proper diet and regular exercise.
